Renewable Fuel Blending in Canada

Canada now blends ethanol and biodiesel – so every time you fill up you’re helping Canada’s environment and economy.

Ethanol and biodiesel are natural non-toxic fuels that burn cleaner than conventional fossil fuels, help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and are safe to use in your vehicles.

Ethanol:

As of December 15, 2010, Canada blends an average of 5% ethanol into the gasoline pool nationwide.  

Biodiesel:

As of July 1, 2011, Canada now blends an average of 2% renewable content into the distillate pool.
